COVID-19: EU Guidance for the progressive resumption of tourism services and for health protocols in hospitality establishments.

  • Posted On: 13 May 2020
European Commission has set out guidelines to allow the resumption of tourism so that people may be able to stay in hotels, eat in restaurants or go to beaches safely in the coming months despite the coronavirus pandemic.

According to documents seen by Reuters on Wednesday, the EU executive also wants EU governments to take into account personal considerations to allow people to visit family and loved ones who live in different countries in the European Union.

The Commission is also proposing that its restrictions on non-essential travel to the 26-nation Schengen zone should be extended by 30 days to June 15.

To the personal attention of all Members of the European Heritage Alliance

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to share with you the final text of our EUROPE DAY MANIFESTO ‘Cultural Heritage: a powerful catalyst for the future of Europe’ which was presented to the public last Saturday.

I wish to thank, most sincerely, all members of our European Heritage Alliance, who have sent us their explicit endorsement and some comments with regard to the draft text of our Manifesto. Together with Harry Verwayen and his team, we have done our utmost to take most of your input on board, while keeping the text as short and punchy.
Please note that we have enlisted all European and international networks which form part of our Alliance as the co-signatories of this text.
As you know, the Manifesto is accompanied by an annex which contains a non-exhaustive list of important reference documents. IMPORTANT: Additional links can always be added - please send them to Lorena since this list remains a work in progress.
