Dear Friends of Heritage Railways:

Wattrain (World Alliance of Tourist Trams and Trains, wattrain.net) - which I represent as its President - is preparing its 2024 Conference. The Conference is open to anyone interested in the future of the Heritage Railways around the world. Previous Conferences were held in Japan in 2015, in Frisco (Texas, USA) in 2018; the 2021 Conference was not possible because of Covid-19. 1. Place and date The Conference will be held in Castellammare di Stabia, just South of Naples (Italy). We expect the arrival of the participants on Friday, July 19, 2024. The Conference will start at 9.00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, and end at lunchtime on Sunday, July 21, 2024. The Conference will be focused on the future of Heritage Railways. Its theme will be “Ensuring Growth Through Sharing of Best Practices”. Our Keynote Speaker at the Gala Dinner on Saturday, July 20, 2024 will be David Morgan, MBE, TD, President Emeritus of WATTRAIN and of FEDECRAIL, Chairman of Heritage Railways Association 1990-2014, Director & Chairman of North Norfolk Railway 1969-2010 and of five other heritage railways over a period of thirty years. President of European Maritime Heritage 2016-2020, Chairman of Heritage Afloat/Maritime Trust 1994-2021. He will elaborate on “The value to Heritage Operators of Shared Information and Mutual Support.”
